11月25日 My Beautiful AngelBeautiful Angel
LIFE HAS CHANGED FOREVER. I MISS YOU SO MUCH.
![]() 11月22日 What a difference a day makes! Not wanting to go into details, but one telephone call Monday morning at 08:50am has changed my life forever, never will it be the same again. I have lost one of the most important people in my life & currently life really is a bitch.
I will carry on as normal, as best as I can but at times, God does deliver a strange & devastating blow. I don't think I have ever felt sadder & this is about as bad as life can get.
SO- live life as though it's your last-one day it will be. 11月18日 NHS-Thank youWell it's now 5 days since I underwent surgery at Boston's Pilgrim Hospital. How was it for me? I tried to maintain a carefree & not at all nervous policy. Hey I did bloody well! Until I got wheeled upto the operating theatre. Yep, I kinda felt awful. But the theatre nurse was my first stop, explained everything, was brilliant, likewise my surgeon. That was pleasantly reassuring. Count to 10-I swear I got to 4! Soon over, the morphine jabs ensured I maintained my sense of humour. Heather thanks for taking time out & ensuring all went better than expected. Mr Murphy & the team, I tip my hat to you all. You were brilliant. The T.V, £3.50 a day, Jesus, soo expensive! Considering the average patient watches 4 hours out of 24. Surely PAYV would be a much better system? Anyway, my 7 days bed rest will be up Monday, one more week & I can return to what I enjoy most-work! Hey, course I'm happy in my work! My experience of the NHS is a very good one. Despite being overworked, understaffed, moaning miserable patients that just criticised for the sheer hell of it, you did a Stirling job. Thank you all. 11月12日 The 13th!Just catching up on some emails & sending a few pics! Then thats it, hospital first thing Monday morning (13th) & an operation early afternoon. So if you venture here via my website you will understand why I wont be around for a while. If it's work related you'll have to contact my colleague Sarah, other than that you'll have to cut me some slack & give me some time to get back to you. I can't perform miracles.
Hopefully just 3 days then home, worst case scenario 7-10-D'Oh! 11月11日 11-11
I won't repeat a blog I wrote earlier, but I will add that today is the 11th-11th & I'm sure you wore your poppy with pride too. God bless our brave boys & girls, keep them safe. ![]() 11月10日 Someone somewhere...Will guide you, have faith & everythings possible. Believe & you will achieve. Nothings impossible but don't be afarid to ask. ![]() Time to reflect.Dove Now whats all the fuss about that film I hear you say? Well for one thing it has emphasised what happens to a picture before it gets sent to the picture editor of whatever magazine has commissioned the picture. Indeed a lot of editing gors into an image, the model is made to look slimmer, perfect skin, teeth, every contour of her body sculptured to reflect perfection, for she is now perfect. Why? If she's not perfect the magazine will not use the image. If an image is used that reflects an average woman, any woman that just happens to be walking down the high street, the magazine sales will be almost zero. Hey, I don't do the research! I must admit that it has made me stop and think, I can now understand why so many women have issues after being bombarded with perfection. Perfection? There is no such thing. Perfection is created with all the skill or a surgeon, only it's on a computer screen. Is there an answer? If there is I don't know it. I do feel bad that I may have unwittingly helped to give someone a complex about her body. 11月9日 Make Fashion your career. My live.space is an extension of my website, therefore naturally Photography & Fashion based. So my blogs tend to revolve in this area. I have found my niche in the job satisfaction market & am happy doing something I love & adore-taking photos is a hobby & also a job for me. Sure I tried many things over the years but have learned if you love something, make it your career too. My other love is fashion-I adore clothes, I love shopping, I love style & trying to second guess the next season’s style & colours. Another reason I love photography, I can use that as the perfect excuse to visit the clothes show & various fashion weeks that are put on! I get asked by lots of aspiring models “How can I break into the fashion market for a career?” Firstly I try & put all prospective models off a modelling career, It’s not what it appears, it can be dark, difficult to know whom to trust, you really do need someone on the inside to help you. Unless you are exceptionally stunning & have the right attitude, you won’t earn much money & will fall into the trap nearly all the girls fall into. You tell your friends “Hey I’m a Model!” Welcome to the dark side. WTF? I hear the models say? REALITY. Your friends will now assume you earn £2000 a week. You need to wear the right clothes, accessories, handbags, shoes, hair extensions, make-up etc & you look a million $! & so you should, you're a model. EXCEPT. You won’t earn hardly anything; it takes ages to become established, so you borrow to keep up the image & quickly fall into debt. But your friends all envy you, they want to hang out with you & every boy says they have been out with you. The jobs just don’t come in. How can you now tell your friends? After all, they all envy you, you’re on that pedestal, and you ARE the girls in the magazines, for you will become famous. How can you possibly tell them you have lived a lie & it's all a sham, you're also terribly in debt? PREDATORS. This is where the dark side rears its ugly head, the unscrupulous men that are waiting to exploit you, for this will seem to be a life-line, the high paying jobs that will bail you out & allow you to clear your debt, perhaps buy a sports car! BUT IT’S NOT MODELLING. Trust me, I work in this industry, I see the dark side, I see the girls time & time again, the pit falls etc. Forget modelling. Read the advice on my website if you are a potential model. www.xintense.com If you still want to become a model & theres no stopping you, just slow down, seek genuine advice & avoid the dark side at all costs! My colleague Sarah will answer any questions you may have, her email address is clearly displayed on my website. FASHION. Become a fashion designer. That’s if you have a love for the fashion industry. Sure it’s hard to break into but so very rewarding & there are some great like-minded people that will help you every step along the way, once you have chosen your path. It certainly does help to take a degree, but aim for one that offers work placement too. Visit your local Connexions & have a chat to them. They will prove invaluable. Remember this, 2,500 people a year go into the Rag-Trade, you need to remember that you’re special, determined & will be better than them. Once you enter the industry, you will quickly discover there’s so much more then basic designing to learn. Like Drawing, Presentation, Illustrating, Pattern understanding & cutting, good communicating skills, modelling on the stand, Research! Etc.Then there are the many different areas too, Kids, womensware, mensware & many more. You also need to have natural aptitude for fashion. I say that because I have been amazed at some of the young girls that have a space dedicated to fashion-with a clear & amazing knowledge, it’s an art & some of you are amazing. Don’t let the thought of having to take a degree put you off if you’re not in the least academic! Google this man Helmut Lang if you have talent trust me, people will know & helmut didn’t take a degree. So if you’re very keen & you feel you have something to give, start with a visit to your careers tutor, or Connexions you will have been doing your research unwittingly simply with your style, watching others, following fashion etc. Turn your dream into reality, expect knock backs, disappointments & the feeling you want to give up at times, stick with it. YOU CAN DO IT, YOU’LL MAKE IT ! 11月7日 How uncannily strange. How strange, I was pinning my poppy to my lapel & my thoughts wandered to my mate Stevie Dixon of 3Para killed on the Falklands whilst on active service. In a sombre mood my mind wandered to the bombings in London, the 7/7. I drove past Edgware station the next day & tupac & Eltons Ghetto Gospel came on the radio. Every time I hear that song I remember 7/7, only its just come on the radio, just after I thought of that horrible day-as if to order. Strange world eh? 11月4日 Teen Vogue-strike a poseVOGUE!
There are jobs & there are jobs! We have a great opportunity later this month to shoot some images for another soon to be Iconic magazine, Teen Vogue-It just so happens 'VOGUE' is my all time favourite fashion mag & this to me will indeed be an honour.
One side factor, I go into hospital on the 13th for my opporation so I may not be up to it *cries* That will be a harsh blow to me, as my colleague will shoot it. In the meantime, I will enjoy the dream. ![]() Day one of the fox hunting season. It’s not just the poor fox that gets chased to exhaustion, and then slowly ripped apart, but as soon as the dogs aren’t upto the job they meet their fate too. When they're no longer useful they're merely shot....this is one of the cruellest things I've heard of. Where the fuck do these people get off thinking it’s a sport? Killing animals for entertainment died out a long time ago. Or so we think. The most humane way to kill the fox you say? They suffer from being chased by a pack dogs and are then ripped to shreds, what part of that is humane? Perhaps you should try and look after your livestock in a more suitable way? Why is it up to us to control their numbers? Surely we should let nature take its course, or are you people too narrow minded to do that? An excuse for a meeting & an afternoon of ‘entertainment’. The law has more loopholes & holes than my colander, allowing the hunt to takeplace, following a laid down trail. Oops, the hounds are chasing a real fox, well as that’s an accident that’s ok! ACCIDENT? I refuse to shoot (with my camera) anyone wearing real Fur, no matter who or what the occasion. It’s so wrong. WRONG. How kewl is this? the window in Topshop, Oxford street, London. Gone way up in my estimation.Miss GB has been STRIPPED!Miss Great Britain has been stripped of her title after being accused of cheating and ignoring rules about doing topless photo shoots. Danielle Lloyd won the award in February after winning a public vote at the glitzy grand final hosted by Noel Edmonds and Jenni Falconer. But after unintentionally admitting that she had been in a relationship with one of the 12 judges at the time of the vote and apparently agreeing to pose topless for Playboy magazine, she has had her title taken off her. In an interview with Eve magazine, Miss Warrington admitted that she had been given a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes as a Christmas present by West Ham footballer Teddy Sheringham when in bed. She has always maintained that she did not start seeing the 40-year-old former England player until after this year's vote, but the organising committee has decided she broke the competition's rules. Sheringham was the only one of the 12 judges, who also included Christine Hamilton, John McCririck and Lord Brocket, to give Lloyd top marks. The Miss Great Britain organisers are also angry that Lloyd has seemingly posed for topless photos for Playboy, as advertised on the glamour magazine's website, which is banned under competition rules. When will they ever learn? We hear this year after year! Although a replacement is yet to be named & will be sometime next week, I would think it will be Miss Basildon, Louise White as she was second. Hope you haven't got 'em out for the lads Lou lol, as they'll come back to haunt you. 11月2日 VOGUE-90!Wow can you believe 'VOGUE' is 90? The Iconic magazine introduced fashion to the world, whilst a generation were in the trenches fighting, months at a time with wet clothes, the stench of rotting flesh, human excrement, mud & rats- with millions getting killed in the name of world peace. 1916-the year that was.....
11月1日 Poppy appealPlease remember why we have this appeal & please wear you poppy with pride. We still have service personel getting killed overseas fighting wars they know not why. WHY? So when you see the poppy seller in your town, don't be afraid to buy a poppy & wear it with pride. http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/ ![]() Black & WhiteBlack & White Black and white photography gives photos a timeless, nostalgic feel simply by the absence of colour. Colour often dates a picture either because the original colours in the print have faded or because the popularity of colours in the photo can be traced back to a certain generation. Black and white photography circumvents this problem. Go Digital
