I found this photograph very funny-maybe it's just me but I have never thought of washing my feet this way before, come to think of it I'm not sure the sink will hold out!

What do you find beautiful about a photograph?

 

Once you understand this you’re well on the way to understanding your photography. Ask yourself this question next time you see a beautiful photograph & ask yourself why you enjoy looking at it. It can be of anything, anywhere-your home, office, a calendar, in a restaurant, but why do you love particular photographs?

 

If you’re reading my blogs I assume you must have an interest in photography. Next time you take a photograph, look twice at your subject. It could be a person, a car, a bumble-bee, a flower etc. Now look again, look all around your subject & ask yourself what you see. Other people, trees, a dog, kids on bikes, rubbish bins, houses, basically anything & everything. Do you really want that in your photograph? Afterall, most people do as most photographs I see have so much going on in the background I often miss the main picture.

 

Now you know to avoid that crap & concentrate solely on your subject. This is where your eye should be trained & once you understand your camera settings you will be able to adjust your depth of field. This means that you throw your background out of focus.

 

Keep your photograph simple, forget the rules-hey didn’t someone once say they were made to be broken? & concentrate on what you want to see. It’s quite simple & once you think like this it becomes easier.

 

Concentrate on what you think makes a great photograph & practice your composition. Worry about the camera later & all those settings. I’ll explain that lot later.

According to the Telegraph, Vivienne Westwood has slammed fashion magazines for being racist and demands that editors should be forced to use black models in their pages. This comes hot on the heels of Naomi Campbell accusing British Vogue of not using her as often as they could because she is black. In reference to a conversation had recently with a magazine editor, Westwood says: "she said that what you always have to have on a magazine cover is a face, that is what sells the magazine, and she told me that you could not put a black person on there because sales halve.

Now I do Like Vivenne, she's one of my all time favourite designers.

After years of photographing Churches & Cathedrals, I needed to choose one for a shoot I have on Sunday, a turn of the centuary shoot & none of the ones I had shot would do.

 

Then I happened upon this amazing little chapel lost in the fens of Lincolnshire, a desolate & flat area yet this is the Chapel I have been searching for. I thought I would show you too. These images are purely from sourcing the Chapel to look back & work out the shoot. Obviously I shot it in turn of the centuary style to get into the head of the photographers of the day.

Well today is my Birthday! Felt like shouting that one out lol, but in reality I like them to slip past unanounced. I know very few people I know on here will see this so I don't care this time.

It's also the day my childrens Mother left me nine years ago for someone else. Shit happens & everything has turned out for the best-eventually.

Well I would have loved being an Milan right now, it's Milan fashion week & I have never been to Milan. One city I would love to visit-one day.
