May 27 The Sea Eagle OK it's not a bird! Jodie Marsh is now a bodybuilderBeauty, philosopher, anthropologist & SILLY COW Jodie Marsh has put her race for the Nobel prize on hold and decided to become a bodybuilder instead. Seriously. I had the privilage to meet Ray Hanna & its an honour to say I knew him. The Pic posted is Rays 4th & final run under Winston Bridge at 215knots. The director wanted 4 runs to get the shot. Photoshop - Crop Tool - CPhotoshop - Crop Tool - CUse the crop tool in Photoshop to crop down an image. Trim away portions of a photo that you may not particularly like and focus on the section of the image that you want to highlight. Select the crop tool from the Tool Bar by pressing C. Crop Tool - C:
Drag a selection with the crop tool just as you would the marquee tools. Use the space bar and shift keys to drag and shape the rectangle about the canvas. Once you have a selection you are happy with, press enter to crop the rest of the picture away. Crop Away!:
Photoshop - Crop Tool Options BarThe arrow by the icon for the crop tool drops down into a list of common picture sizes. Use these if you plan on printing the image and framing it in a standard frame. Crop Tool Presets:
While these presets offer a precise means to crop an image down to the desired size. This tool does not solve the problem of reducing the size of an entire image. Photoshop does have a solution to this problem, you may change the entire size of an image by clicking on the Image menu at the top of the screen and selecting the Image Size... option. Use the vacant input boxes as a means to specify your own dimensions and resolution. Resolution has to do with the quality of the image, set a higher resolution to increase picture quality. Be aware that increasing a resolution of an image also increases the file size of that image - not so super for web developers. Crop Tool Option Bar:
Photoshop - Crop Tool Second Options barAfter dragging and dropping a crop. Before pressing enter to confirm the cropping, another options bar appears at the top of the screen. More Crop Tool Options:
Photoshop - Crop Tool Mouse WorkRotate the cropping by clicking behind one of the points and swinging your mouse about the canvas. Clicking on a point will allow you to additionally modify the size of the cropping. Mouse Work:
Rotating the cropping as we've done above skewed the sphere creating more of a three dimensional oval - egg shape. Photoshop - BrushesPhotoshop - BrushesThe brush tool is a relic that should be cherished and treated like royalty. An expert in the art of Photoshop's Brush tool will find it very helpful indeed. Photoshop - The Brush PaletteThe small icon located on the tool bar hardly does justice to the tool when compared to the actual brush palette. Access the brush palette located toward the top of the program. Single click the brush tab to activate the brush palette. The palette is organized into a two column table with preset brushes on the right-hand side and several brush stroke options on the left. At the bottom lies a preview that should give you some idea of what your brush stroke will do. The brush palette is essentially the ultimate control panel for your brushes. Anything and everything can be adjusted with the brush palette. The Brush Palette:
Photoshop - Brush PresetsPhotoshop comes with several brush pre-sets. Later we will discuss how to create your own unique brushes but for now scroll through the preset brushes and when you come to the bottom, there's still more hiding from your view. To access them, click on the little black arrow located at the top of the palette near the actual Brushes tab. A navigation list should pop into view and at the bottom of that list lies about a dozen brush sets. Brush Presets:
Browse through them, familiarize yourself with this palette, and finally pick a brush to paint with and paint away on a new layer. Paint Away:
Photoshop - Brush OptionsPreviously we sort of ignored the left column of the brush palette. Customizing brushes is accomplished here. Simply checking one of the boxes here modifies the brush in some way. These options are a way to fine tune brushes and can really bring about some impressive results. Brush Options:
If the scatter option on your brush isn't already on, click the check box to activate this option and then click the text to highlight the option and bring the palette into fine-tune mode. Scattering Options:
Here we can adjust the amount of scattering that takes place along with the jitter and fade options. All really neat features available through the brush palette. Photoshop - Create Your Own BrushAs you begin to "fiddle" around with each and every option available, you may want to save your brush as a preset for later use. Finalize all your options and settings then click the "Create New Brush" button at the bottom of the brush palette. Photoshop comes back with a prompt of what to name your brush. Type in a name and then press "OK". Create New Brush:

I am using Photoshop CS3 on a Mac in this example. Though I am not sure if this works in Elements, I do know that it works in CS2 on both a PC & a Mac. Here’s the concept: you have a folder full of JPG files and they are all very large. You want to resize all of the photos at once, or you want to create small copies of all of the photos at once, but save it to another location. No problem. Just click the File menu, and hover over Scripts, then select Image Processor:
A menu will pop up with what looks like several daunting options.
Don’t worry. All it is asking for is the location of the photo folder,
where you want your resized copies to go, and how small you want them.
Just follow the numbers on the left. 1, 2, 3. Before I do this, I
usually create a folder inside the photo folder and call it “Small
Copies” so that I know exactly what it is:

You tell your friends “Hey I’m a Model!” Welcome to the dark side. WTF? I hear the models say? REALITY. Your friends will now assume you earn £2000 a week. You need to wear the right clothes, accessories, handbags, shoes, hair extensions, make-up etc & you look a million $! & so you should, you're a model. EXCEPT. You won’t earn hardly anything; it takes ages to become established, so you borrow to keep up the image & quickly fall into debt. But your friends all envy you, they want to hang out with you & every boy says they have been out with you. The jobs just don’t come in. How can you now tell your friends? After all, they all envy you, you’re on that pedestal, and you ARE the girls in the magazines, for you will become famous. How can you possibly tell them you have lived a lie & it's all a sham, you're also terribly in debt? PREDATORS. This is where the dark side rears its ugly head, the unscrupulous men that are waiting to exploit you, for this will seem to be a life-line, the high paying jobs that will bail you out & allow you to clear your debt, perhaps buy a sports car! BUT IT’S NOT MODELLING. Trust me, I work in this industry, I see the dark side, I see the girls time & time again, the pit falls etc. Forget modelling. That’s if you have a love for the fashion industry. Sure it’s hard to break into but so very rewarding & there are some great like-minded people that will help you every step along the way, once you have chosen your path. It certainly does help to take a degree, but aim for one that offers work placement too. Visit your local Connexions & have a chat to them. They will prove invaluable. Remember this, 2,500 people a year go into the Rag-Trade, you need to remember that you’re special, determined & will be better than them. Once you enter the industry, you will quickly discover there’s so much more then basic designing to learn. Like Drawing, Presentation, Illustrating, Pattern understanding & cutting, good communicating skills, modelling on the stand, Research! Etc.Then there are the many different areas too, Kids, womensware, mensware & many more. You also need to have natural aptitude for fashion. I say that because I have been amazed at some of the young girls that have a space dedicated to fashion-with a clear & amazing knowledge, it’s an art & some of you are amazing. Don’t let the thought of having to take a degree put you off if you’re not in the least academic! Google this man Helmut Lang if you have talent trust me, people will know & helmut didn’t take a degree. Apart from the obvious reasons relating to sexual attraction, the female body does represent the perfection nature has bestowed upon humans. The best forms of curiosity displayed by men centuries back are the various paintings of women that adorn the walls of great museums all over the world. Mona Lisa is just an example. In this modern age, it is the still camera that has replaced the brush. What is female photography? As the name suggests, the term ‘female photography‘ are the photos taken of the female form in various poses. It doesn’t necessarily always relate to nude photography. Female form photography has been in existence since very long ago and in fact, you have special categories of female form photographers who specialize in this art form and have established practices. Why female photography? As mentioned before, female photography is an evergreen topic of interest for men mostly. But just why is it so popular even after so many centuries?? By now, it seems almost all poses and art expressions of a woman have been captured by the camera. However, it is still in vogue! These are the probable reasons for the sustenance of the female form photography: - A woman’s body has been a symbol of reverence for men. A woman has always stood for beauty, truth and purity beyond the reach of men. Capturing those delicate moments in a single expression creates ripples in the photography market. Some female photography tips Clothes on or no clothes, females have always been a favorite subject of photography. However, it takes talent and perseverance to get the exact expression that would make your photos world famous. If you need some tips about female form photography, then given below are few start ups that would hopefully help you along. - Find the right female for your photograph! Getting a subject for your photograph is a tough job for any photographer - especially if your aim is to take intimate photographs. However, if it is simply facial expressions that matter, then even your mother, daughter, wife or sister would do. It is the expression you want right? I’m sure it would be apparent, that if it involves some degree of nudity, then it is better you hire a professional model who would be more comfortable posing. - Background for stills The background needs special attention when it comes to photographing female forms. Viewers usually relate better to a serene setting that matches her delicate lines. Usually, the studio is the best place to do the shoot as you can adjust your settings and be in control of lighting. If outdoor shooting is your interest, then you’ll need to be prepared with equipment for highlighting contrasts etc. Hint: A darker background gives better clarity to the female form. The lighting is of paramount vitality if you want your images to be perfect. It is always better to have the lighting focused on the female either from behind or the sides. Directly on the face would have two disadvantages; the light on the face would not capture the perfect expression which angled lighting or background lighting would provide. Moreover, light on the face would make any one uncomfortable and promote squinting! - Stay away from her! When you are shooting your female model, make sure you are away from her!! Use a variety of lenses. Avoid moving in too close when you are capturing the most detailed moments of her face, keeping some distance will help immensely. It would make her feel comfortable and result in better and more diversified expressions. Female form photography gives you immense scope to show off the talent that you have as a photographer. Well, they say “There is a woman behind every man’s success”. This cliché can’t be more appropriate than in this sector of photography!! August 24 Kate Moss......... Kate Moss, bless her- has been uncharacteristically chatty lately. In the August Vogue She Who Never Opens Her Mouth (unless to hang a strand of David Yurman diamonds from it) "opens up" to Plum Sykes for her cover profile, and in the September Interview she "opens up" to Glenn O'Brien for her cover Q&A. We nearly threw out our backs when we realized Kate Moss talked to journalists enough for two back-to-back cover stories, but she has a reason for being so loquacious: She's promoting her imminent autumn/winter Topshop line. And if she can get the world to fall in love with Kate the Person, then the world will buy her clothes — a diabolical plan, indeed. Actually, we imagine Kate loathed this sucking-up-to-journalists exercise (we'd hate to suck up to us, too), so we decided to do her a favor and scientifically analyze which story presented her as a more likable human being. Opening Ceremony The flame will be ignited by a petrol bomb thrown by a native of the area, in the traditional dress of balaclava and shell suit. The flame will be contained in a large overturned Police van situated on the roof of the stadium. The Events In previous Olympic Games, East London's competitors have not been particularly successful. In order to redress the balance, some of the events have been altered slightly to the advantage of local athletes. 100 Metres Sprint Competitors will have to hold a DVD player and microwave oven (one in each arm) and on the sound of the starting pistol, a police dog will be released from a cage 10 metres behind the athletes. 110 Metres Hurdles As above but with added obstacles (i.e. car bonnets, hedges, garden fences, walls etc) Hammer Competitors in this event may choose the type of hammer they wish to use (claw, sledge etc) the winner will be the one who can cause the most physical damage within three timed attempts. Fencing Entrants will be asked to dispose of as many stolen goods as possible in 5 minutes. Shooting A strong challenge is expected from local men in this event. The first target will be a moving police van. In the second round, competitors will aim at a post office clerk, bank teller or Securicor-style cash-in-transit guard. The traditional .22 rifle has been replaced in this event by a choice of either a Mac 10 or Sawn-off 12-bore shotgun. Boxing Entry to the boxing will be restricted to husband and wife teams, and will take place on a Friday night. The husband will be given 15 pints of lager while the wife will be told not to make him any tea when he gets home. The bout will then commence. Cycling Time Trials Competitors will be asked to break into the University bike shed and take an expensive mountain bike owned by some mummy's boy on his first trip away from home. All against the clock. Cycling Pursuit As above, but the bike will be owned by a visiting member of the Australian rugby team, who will witness the theft. Modern Pentathlon Amended to include mugging, breaking and entering, flashing, joyriding, arson and generally hanging around. Swimming Events All waterways are currently being tested for toxicity levels, once one is found that can support human life, swimming events will be organized. Please note that the Synchronized Swimming event for this year will comprise of dropping acid and watching all the funky ripples on the pool, the specific musical support to this event will be provided by "The Verve". The Marathon A safe route has yet to be decided. Men's 50km Walk Unfortunately this will have to be cancelled as the police cannot guarantee the safety of anyone walking the streets of East London, especially anyone that appears to be mincing. The Closing Ceremony Entertainment will include formation rave dancing by members of the Stratford Health in the Community anti-drug campaigners, synchronized rock throwing, and music by the Ilford community choir featuring the So Solid Crew. The flame will be extinguished by police riot water cannon following the inevitable pitch invasion by confused West Ham organised hooliganism club. The stadium itself will then be boarded up before the local athletes break into it and remove all the copper piping and the central heating boiler. The 2008 Beijing Olympics FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!
